In this issue we showcase the Diners Club Winemaker of the Year award winners for 2011.

This prestigious competition, now in its 31st year, has become a benchmark for the wine industry, celebrating and helping to further the careers of many talented South African winemakers. On that note, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate Johan Jordaan, this year’s Diners Club Winemaker of the Year, for his superb 2009 Spier Creative Block 5 (a Bordeaux-style red blend), and Matthew van Heerden, our Young Winemaker of the Year, for his Uva Mira Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2009. Read all about our winners and their exceptional creations on page 80 and page 89 respectively.

As always, Signature features an excellent mix of entertaining and informative reads to inspire the Diners Club lifestyle. In our travel section, we explore Turkey. With its colourful culture, warm people and some of the finest beaches in the world, it is the ultimate summer holiday destination.
